Nabunya Sworn In As First Ever Female Victoria University Guild President

Victoria University Kampala last Saturday swore in new student leaders led by incoming guild president Maria Peggy Nabunya, a second year bachelor’s of science in public health student.

The swearing in ceremony was officiated by the University’s promoter Rajiv Ruparelia, the chancellor Dr. Martin Aliker, faculty deans, management, alumni students and current students of the Jinja road based University.

“Being guild president to me means challenging myself to know my capabilities,” Nabunya said in an interview with the media. “It means empowerment and inspiration to younger women like myself to aim for the highest,” “I wanted to see VU have a female guild president so I went for it,”

Rajiv Ruparelia, the promoter of the Jinja road based University congratulated Ms Nabunya upon completing a successful campaign. Rajiv hailed the ‘spirit of competitiveness’ showed by all candidates who participated in the guild campaigns competing for different posts.
