New Council Inauguration
Victoria University, KAMPALA, 25th November 2020
The new Victoria University governing Council has today the 25th of November, 2020 been sworn-in at Victoria University, Kampala-Uganda. This event takes place every five years, to coincide with the tenure of each governing Council Members occupy the office for five years, save for representatives of students who serve according to the guiding principles of the Student’s Guild Council. In attendance were; the directors, members of the University Council, the Ag. Vice-Chancellor and the Academic Registrar.
Victoria University is one of the leading universities in Uganda and stands out as a Centre for academic excellence. It offers a fresh and intellectually stimulating environment that nurtures critical thinking. The University was opened in August 2013 and boasts of the world-class facilities and staffing determined to revitalize education on the Ugandan landscape.
The news Council includes Dr. Joram Francis Kahenano –Chairperson; Dr. Biribonwa N.Joseph -Vice-Chairperson; Mr. Kalebbo James; Dr. Consolata Kabonesa; Mr. Rajiv Ruparelia; Mr. Sameer Thakkar; Dr. Mary Kanyiginya Tizikara; Mr. Rashid Ssemambo; Dr. Lawrence Muganga Acting Vice-Chancellor; Dr. Chirag Kotecha; H.E Mark Serebe Guild President; Mr. Waliraki John Bosco; Mr. Andrew Mwenda and Mrs. M.G Katusabe Ssemwezi Secretary to the council. The new council brings on board a wealth of experience in fields of corporate governance, leadership, senate and gender matters, human resources management, law, education, finance, public affairs, and journalism as well as entrepreneurship at an international level.
The entire Victoria University community welcomes the new Council Members into the VU fraternity and wishes them the best in carrying out their noble duties during their term of office.
