The volatility of the global business environment, calls for an equally prepared mind to be in position to thrive under the circumstances. This calls for a comprehensive and professional delivery of academic and professional programmes to make a student industrious and/or innovative to succeed when they venture into the business and the management thereof. The faculty structure of Business and Management at Victoria University, Uganda, has been designed in such an encompassing way to first of all, bring on board competent academic staff that on top of designing relevant academic programmes; deliver relevant materials that suite the going needs of the business world; offer guidance as and when it is required; carry out research in critical business areas of the global economy; and provide mentorship to students. The faculty staff are continuously scanning the environment to ensure that they are up to date with not only the local business agenda, but, agendas of the regional and the entire global business spectrum. This is done to ensure tailor-made learning that will cause the much desired transformation that will make the students be competitive anywhere in the world after completing their studies.
The faculty has formed several partnerships with some of the leading companies in Uganda, especially those belonging to the Ruparalia Group of companies. These partnerships have created fertile ground for internships for our students on top securing access for case studies that time and again arise during the teaching and learning especially after completion of certain learning outcomes which require a practicum related touch. There are a variety of programmes for one to pick interest in; these range from postgraduate programmes, to Diploma Programmes: Master of Business Administration, for the Postgraduate programme. The Bachelor’s programmes: Bachelor of Business Administration; Bachelor of Banking and Finance; Bachelor of Procurement and Logistics; Bachelor of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Bachelor of International Business; Bachelor of Science in Oil and Gas Accounting; Bachelor of Human Resource Management. For the Diploma Programmes: Diploma in Procurement and Logistics; Diploma in Business Administration; Diploma in Banking and Finance; Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management, and Diploma in Human Resource Management.
Deans Profile – Bill R. Nkeeto
1. Summary of Work experience
The Dean has over 10 years in University Education. He started off as an instructor in 2007 in the Sports Science department at Makerere University. He later joined Cavendish University project in 2008 where he participated in drafting its paper work for acquiring a provisional License and later as a lecturer in the Faculty of Business and Management during the inception of Cavendish University. While at Cavendish University, he held several positions as; Lecturer; Dean Faculty of Business and Management, Director of Academics, Director in charge of Administration and Operations, among others, until October of 2015. He has attended and also trained several quality Assurance trainings on teaching and learning at the University level. Among several activities between 2016 and 2019, he has been involved in capacity building-training in areas of entrepreneurship on top of consulting in marketing related activities.
